Hi, Matte here. I began piercing way back in 1994 in Colorado Springs, Co. I re-located to Fairfield, Ca in 1998 and since then, have become the prevalent piercer in Solano and Napa counties. Since 2002, I have attended the Association of Professional Piercers (link) Conference to continue my education and stay up on the latest advances and techniques. I strive to provide my clients the safest and most comfortable experience possible. With that, I adhere to all state and local laws and in many cases greatly surpass the minimum standards. I only pierce with implant grade stainless steel (316lvm astm f-138), implant grade titanium (6al4v eli astm f-136), niobium, white, yellow and rose gold, platinum and glass (soda lime, borosilicate and quartz). I am also selective on what I will and will not pierce. For example

I will not pierce:
• Scoop/horizontal tongue
• Eyelids
• Anything on the hands

Case by case:
• Cheeks/dimples
• Lower navels
• Forearms
I am sure there are more for each list, but, I think you get the idea. One of my motto’s is, “just because you can pierce something, doesn’t mean you should”.

I also used to work as an in-home wound care specialist. I have done this for about 12 years. I bring those skills into the piercing room as well, such as when a client comes in with a piercing that isn’t healing like it should, we can deduce the best way to heal it. This also grants me the opportunity to bounce ideas off of doctors and nurses to better serve you.

As of August, 2013, I am a member in good standing of the Association of Professional Piercers and am now a committee member for the Body Piercing Archive Committee. History is very important to me. I am very honored to have been chosen to be a part of all this.

Over the last few years I have taken up photography as a hobby (life can’t be all piercing now can it?). I mostly shoot concerts these days but, I shoot just about anything given the chance (weddings are my least favorite). Click on the link to see a selection of my shots.

I am still heavily involved with the suspension community and have now been suspending people for over a decade. I run Flesh Syndicate Suspensions (link), a local group, and we have monthly meets when the weather permits. While I understand this concept is foreign to many people, those of us that do it, love it. For many, it is a therapeutic release. Please do not judge us.

Below is a list of organizations I am a part of. Each one of these are very important to me and has helped form who I am and made me a better person and piercer.

• Association of Professional Piercers – Member/ Committee member
• Bay Area Piercers – Member
• Sacramento Valley Piercers – Member
• ULTCW – SEIU Union - Member
