Hi, Matte here! I started piercing in November of 1994. I served a full apprenticeship and have been learning ever since. I have attended the Association of professional piercers conference since 2002 for follow up education. I keep myself educated in all the newest techniques and advancements in the piercing industry. I hold a current blood borne pathogeons certificate as well as current first aid and CPR certifications.
As far as the shop, I make sure I only use the highest quality jewelry for piercing. I will only use implant grade stainless steel (316lvm astm f-138), implant grade titanium (6al4v eli astm f-136), niobium, white and yellow gold, platnum, tygon and PTFE. All of which are approved by the state of California as per health and safety code sections 25214.1-25214.4.2. This does mean that, for the most part, I cannot pierce with outside jewelry. I am hoping glass will soon be approved because I love piercing with glass. I should know in the next couple of months where that stands. I also try to stock a selection of wood, horn, bone and stone jewelry and can order just about anything you can think of (at no additional charge).
I also run a small suspension group called As Seen on TV. I have over 5 years experience with suspension and try to share the passion with as many people as I can. You can check out our website for details and contact information.
